Nottingham

News Story :: 2007-04-14 15:06:36

The framework of the revised and updated SHAP is being developed now in preparation for a series of consultation meetings in June/July 2007. In order to be able to influence the final form of the new SHAP, you need to look at the headings under which it is proposed to assemble actions for the Plan and make sure that what is being proposed is what you want to see happen.

The headings under which it has been proposed to assemble actions for the SHAP II are:

  • Reducing and diverting the concentration of students in family housing areas;

  • Improving the environmental conditions in areas occupied by students;

  • Improving the physical quality of accommodation for students;

  • Tackling and reducing crime in areas with high numbers of student residents.

  • Developing and promoting positive community relationships between all residents whilst reminding students of the need to show respect and consideration to other members of their neighbourhoods.

What do you think the priorities should be? What actions do you want to see included in the new Plan?  Observations you want to make,  including any comments about  the success (or otherwise) of the present SHAP, the way in which the NAG works, etc., are very welcome so please let us know what you think by e-mailing us at contact@nottinghamaction.org.uk
