Run Like A Spartan ... A group of Nottingham Trent University students, graduates and friends are raising funds for the Lymphoma Association by running the Robin Hood Half Marathon towing a chariot behind them. The Lymphoma Association provides
specialized information and support for patients suffering from this type of cancer and for their families. To find out more about the Spartans and to donate to their cause, take a look at their website and help them reach their £5,000 target.

At mid-day on the 10th of May we heard on the radio that the PM will be resigning on the 27th of June, so it comes as no surprise to learn that Baroness Andrews has postponed her visit to us due to parliamentary pressure.
We gather she (or her replacement) has now said she will come some time in July/August. However, representatives from Nottingham will still be visiting civil servants in London on 18th of June. And we are still hope that the council can be persuaded to accept NAG representation on that occasion.

The city council plans to crack down on landlords who have failed to obtain a licence for their properties. Less than one in ten have applied for a licence so far. Political Editor CHARLES WALKER reports.

A Landlord has abandoned a legal challenge to city council plans to restrict where students can live.
The framework of the revised and updated SHAP is being developed now in preparation for a series of consultation meetings in June/July 2007. In order to be able to influence the final form of the new SHAP, you need to look at the headings under which it is proposed to assemble actions for the Plan and make sure that what is being proposed is what you want to see happen.
It is not enough for us to know that HMOs/shared houses and other multiple occupancy properties affect neighbourhood living conditions (amenity). We need evidence to prove it. The Incident Log are intended to provide precise records of what happens and how the quality of residents’ lives is affected. They will help provide the evidence we need and they will show what actions are taken, by whom, and whether they are helpful.
