Iain Wright MP Secretary Of State In The Department Of Communities And Local Government To Visit Our Neighbourhoods

The Minister's visit is scheduled to take place from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. We had hoped to have more time in which to show the Minister all our neighbourhoods and to give everyone a chance to meet him and talk to him about the problems that HMOs are causing to us and our neighbourhoods. Clearly, two hours is not going to be anywhere enough time to do that. So we have to make the best of what we have.

Nottingham, Nottingham 11:00 Tue 13th May 2008 to 13:00 Tue 13th May 2008

We want to try and put together a 'Minister's guide to our neighbourhoods' (a sort of rough guide to studentification) with a map, photographs and, if at all possible, comments from residents.

YOU CAN HELP US TO COMPILE THE GUIDE BY SENDING US INFORMATION ABOUT HMOs IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD AND GIVING US YOUR COMMENTS ON HOW YOUR LIVES HAVE BEEN AFFECTED AND WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE HAPPEN SO THAT WE CAN PASS THEM ON TO THE MINISTER

The NAG is working with the Council officers and our local councillors to devise a tour that will highight the issues we have been campaigning on and we very much hope that there will be an opportunity for some of the NAG to meet him as well.

The neighbourhoods we want to feature are: the Lenton Triangle (Douglas Road, Seely Road, etc.), the Lenton Drives (Harlaxton, Harrington, etc.), Old Lenton, the Lenton Gardens Estate (Arnesby Road, Ingham Grove, Swenson Avenue, Martinmass Close), the Hillside area (Derby Road/Wollaton Park), Dunkirk, the Wollaton Park Estate.

Amongst the features we want to draw the Minister's attention to are:

HMOs with loft and/or cellar/and/or garage conversions
HMOs where the gardens are being used as car parking space
HMOs causing environmental problems (litter, noise, etc.)
