NAG's Student Housing Action Plan : Priorities for Action

A. Actions intended to :

• divert students from family housing areas
• reduce the number of HMOs in the same areas

B. Actions designed to :

• improve environmental conditions in areas occupied by students living in HMOs
• when HMOs are left vacant

C. Actions needed to improve the standards of accommodation for students living in :

• HMOs
• purpose build housing

D. Actions needed to tackle and reduce crime in areas with high numbers of student residents.

E. Actions required to develop and promote positive community relationships between all residents, the universities, police and local government departments, whilst reminding students of the need to show respect and consideration to other members of their neighbourhoods.
