It is now almost three years since BBC Radio Nottingham did a ‘Groundswell’ programme on students and the community.
Listen to 2004's 'Groundswell' debate by clicking here.
They are now revisiting the topic at:
Boundary Road United Reformed Church, Boundary Road, Beeston, Nottingham 19:00 Thu 1st Feb 2007
The discussion topic will again be students and the community, addressing student accommodation, communities dying out, and the changing face of Nottingham as a result of the influx of students. Although the event is taking place in Beeston, it is important for people from all the ‘studentified’ neighbourhoods of Nottingham to come along and contribute your experiences, ideas, opinions. Without you being there to have your say, this programme will not be half as good as it should be.
I have copied a small map, showing Boundary Road, Beeston, in relation to Derby Road, the Priory Roundabout, Wollaton Vale and Woodside Road. I hope it will help you locate the venue.
Everyone is welcome to come – the more the merrier! So please encourage all of your neighbours to take part.
However, it is important that you make sure you tell either the BBC (by telephoning their Actionline on 934-8484), or myself that you will be attending before Monday 29 January
